I finished up Week One today (I run our weeks Sunday thru Saturday) with the help of rewatching the last few shows of season two of Downton Abbey. Anyone else excited about tonight's premiere?
While this certainly isn't one of my most favorite weeks I've ever done, I guess I need to break back into the craftiness slowly after taking off the majority of the year in 2012. I find myself doing more and more digital elements for the week, as that just seems easier. Once it is all together, though, it seems boring. I do have a few favorites that I will highlight.
Week One:
Left Side:
My favorites are the cards that we wrote on. The boys suprisingly did this without much complaining! After reading them, do you get a theme going on? :::grin:::
Last year I stopped doing Project Life because it felt the same every week. Work and sports. Looking back, I realize that while it may feel the same, each week is unique and should be celebrated. Every game won't be the same, and there are definitely many many good things in my life to celebrate. I regret that I didn't complete last years album, and I'm determined to do so this year, even if every week feels the same.
The other favorite for this week is the QR code I inserted for Zach's basketball game video. I first saw this idea last year from a post Becky Higgins did (video here). I couldn't believe it this morning when Traci Reed had a detailed post about adding video to your album, with a free card! I love how it turned out and I hope there will be many more cards like this in this years albums (I edited the photo to preserve the privacy of our school and teammates).
And that's the excitement from Week One. Now it's time to get set for the week...the boys go back to school, and there will be at least 3 basketball games played this week. I'm ready to get back to a routine, but not quite ready for the homework struggles!
Have a good week, make it count!
