It's here. After hearing for almost six years "You need to wait until Nicholas is 6" we have now heard "Just give us a call when you want to set something up!" YIKES! It's taken me awhile to process that statement. We both liked Dr. Jones in Atlanta, and I will call to get a surgery date scheduled...but YIKES YIKES YIKES. I thought this surgery would be a piece of cake, compared to the canalplasty. But I'm quickly discovering that no surgery is a piece of cake when it's your child that is being operated on. And it's us that is making the life-changing decision for him. What a huge decision to make. This is where I get down on my knees and put it in God's hands, and trust that He leads us in the right path. I did that last April, and I still marvel at the calmness I felt. I know that I need to "let go, and let God" again, so why am I having a much harder time this time around? We received approval from our insurance company for the surgical procedures, and Dr. Jones is in our network, so that is terrific news! Another year of reaching our out-of-pocket max will soon be upon us...
I can't believe that Christmas will soon be here. I am nowhere ready. Yes, the house is decorated. The cards have been sent. But shopping? As Nicholas would say..."I dunno." I'm just out of ideas. And I guess I need to decide if I will be making any scrapbook items for anyone. Because that will need to get started yesterday!
Here are a few of my very favorite pictures of our last trip to Charlottesville. It is such a beautiful town, and we found the downtown historic section, where they had the brick road blocked off to traffic. There were all kinds of cute shops and restaurants (Scott was glad it was a Sunday morning when we discovered it, as all the stores were still closed!). And a really huge chalkboard set up for graffiti. Of course, I asked Nicholas to leave his mark!
Off to go help in the Kindergarten classroom with crafts. As long as glue bottles aren't set out, it should go smoothly! Next on my list is cleaning up the dining room scrapbook room to see if I can get some creativity flowing!
Have a great day...make it count!
