A couple of weeks ago I realized I still had 8 hours of vacation time to use before the end of the year, and since I'm fortunate enough to already have Christmas week scheduled off, it had to be soon. So, the 17th sounded like a perfect date. I planned to get all of my wrapping done. Mother Nature had other plans. Saturday afternoon the snow started. It wasn't as bad as what they were saying, but really...I don't know since I haven't been out of the house since Saturday afternoon. Of course, school was cancelled today.
Yesterday when I knew that the boy's wouldn't have school, I told them that I was locking myself in the bedroom and wrapping presents. After much whining at the door, I was done. Nicholas told me that Santa doesn't need to come...music to a parent's ear!
So have I mentioned that the boy's fight? It drives me crazy. Yesterday I told Zachary to go upstairs to his room after I couldn't take it any more. And later on, this is what I found outside his bedroom door:
Today wasn't so bad...there were only a couple of times that I wanted to put the sign outside of my bedroom door!
So for the most part, I'm ready for Christmas. I have one more project I need to complete, but other than that, bring it on!
Last week the boys had a Secret Santa workshop at school. They were so excited about their gifts. Scott told Zachary to make sure to bring the change home. Instead of change, this is what he brought home:
And this could very well be my favorite gift of the year. I plan to save the paper and frame it for a Christmas decoration.
Marry Christmas!
