Project Life Week 5, 6, and 7

While I haven't kept up with posting my completed pages to the blog, I have kept up with the photos and completing the pages!

We are all well. Zachary's basketball ends this weekend with the last of the tournaments. While they don't have a good record, they have learned a lot and I think they are doing a fabulous job! Isn't that all that matters...what your Mama thinks?

Nicholas' speech, reading and writing continue to improve. He has become accustomed to his hearing aid and doesn't ask to take it off anymore when he gets home from school.

We promised Nicholas two things for after his surgeries were finished...a dog (which Jasper continues to be a good dog, and hopefully even better after we have our first session with a dog trainer on Sunday) and Walt Disney World. This summer we will be taking the boys to Disney for a week and I'm so excited to see them experience it! Nicholas is worried that there won't be enough to do for a whole week!

I'm planning to enjoy every second of March. A month of no practices and no games. April we start back up with baseball practice. Oh please let the month of March go slow!

Project Life Week 4

Another week completed!

Project Life Updated

Guess what I spent the day doing? Whew! I changed the design as the original one was way too time-consuming and I wasn't thrilled with it. I think I am finally happy with this one and hope I can keep it up the rest of the year!

Hearing aid update: Nicholas' FM system is in place and is amazing! His teacher was sharing secrets with him the first day and the rest of the class was trying to guess what she was saying...Nicholas thought that was pretty cool! We turned on the feature where he can control the volume himself and had them turn up the base setting and noticed a huge improvement right away! There is a lot of feedback at times, but we are trying to get by with an open fit and that is one of the drawbacks. At this point we really don't want him having an ear mold as that will take away a significant amount of "natural" hearing that he does have. All in all, we are thrilled with the aid to date!

Hopefully Nicholas' FM system will be in place Wednesday afternoon with his new hearing aid. We are anxious to see the difference. His hearing aid definitely needs turned up, and we are considering having the audiologist turn on the program where he can adjust the volume on his own.

Project Life 2010

Last year I made it mid-way thru April with Project 365 before I fell too far behind to catch up. It is one of my 2009 regrets. This year, I'm hoping to keep up by doing it all digitally and printing the book at the end of the year. Here is last weeks completed page (I think if you click on the photo it should open larger):

Becky Higgin's Project Life kit looks really neat, if you are interested in a kit. I purchased her Project 365 last year and was thrilled with the content and quality of it.
